The Human Spirit Project 101 The mosaic we are weaving
This is the project that gathers “12 Disciples” from member colleges to have a life changing experience. Each of the 12 Graduate level students will have mentorship responsibility for 12 high school students of their own. These 144 students with their 12 mentors will come together to serve in the various member ministries. We are dedicated to leadership development by helping God’s beautiful children discover His will for their lives. It all starts with a beautiful child of God finding and fulfilling their special purpose in life. To help them discern the Lords will for their life, we shepherd them through a spiritually-based comprehensive assessment program for discovering their: • Life Gifts • Spiritual Gifts • Personality Type • Values • Passions --in other words, we help them explore a multi-faceted approach to understanding the best ways to add meaning and purpose to their life based on God’s will! Assessments of Gifts, Talents and Aptitudes are essential to helping God’s children blossom into whom they were created to be. We want to be the wind beneath their wings as they take flight towards their dreams. Once we synthesize the in-depth interpretive analysis of everyone in the building, we will have insights on our Gifts, Talents and Aptitudes, also on our strengths as well as the areas where improvement is needed. In the areas that need improvement, we are truly fortunate to have an opportunity to use as a resource, a synergistic team that embodies the energetic and "can-do" attitudes necessary to help us fulfill our vision. The disciples will provide intellectual capital as well as a fresh perspective as we endeavor to see the Father glorified, His church edified and His enemies terrified. This team makes possible the expansion or inclusion of the following LIFE AND EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE MINISTIES OBJECTIVE To expand or build a comprehensive set of ministries that will offer programs to empower the youth, families and citizens of the Back Mountains and surrounding townships to greater self-sufficiency after the economic meltdown. PURPOSE • To provide job retraining opportunities based on the new economic realities. • To provide housing opportunities through the salvaged foreclosure ministry. • To provide financial literacy programs; • To increase the capacity of Life Groups and Celebrate Recovery. • To provide Worship, fellowship and other life changing experiences to help people recover from economic devastation. • To provide mentoring, after-school tutoring programs for youth and adults; • To provide parenting programs for youth and adults; • To provide senior citizen programs for older adults; • To provide internships/Job Placement; • To provide job readiness skills (i.e. effective communication, Corporate dress codes, interviewing skills, resume preparation); • To provide health awareness programs for the community (Stress, Prostate Cancer & Heart Disease, Diabetes and Breast Cancer etc…) The possibilities are as varied as the gifts and talents of God’s beautiful children who have come together for this very purpose. By utilizing available assessment tools to clarify our mission, define results, set goals, and develop a focused plan, we will have the bases for the strategic planning process. The "alpha" presents the foundational truth or core of all that we do; the "omega" establishes the supreme goal or target or desired end of all that we do; and the "action" provides the means by which we believe we move from alpha to omega. |
